    It’s always driven me a little crazy that our organization seems to skip steps 1, 3, and 4.

    We have many change initiatives without an overarching vision or a sense of urgency.

    IMO, Kotter’s process is like a recipe card… if you just follow the directions, you’re going to be successful. However, if you deviate, then you’re final product will be different than what the recipe intended.

    You can still create something that is edible, but it would have been much better if you would have just followed the recipe.
