HISTORY
In 1994, John Hiatt founded PROSCI to serve the growing profession of change managers. In 1996, John Kotter published Leading Change, reminding C-suite leaders they were both business leaders and change leaders.
Both Hiatt and Kotter, along with many other others, created a wealth of thinking, tools, and tactics for change managers and change leaders. Many people and organizations benefited from the improved change skills of those change managers and leaders.
Never an official change manager or appointed change leaders, I tried those tactics and struggled to create accelerated change. An engineer by training and a change agent first by passion and now by profession, I studied, experimented, and implemented tactics suited for change agents like me. I wanted to help change agents struggling without official positions or authority but energized by their belief that the world would be better if they could deliver their change.
In 2016, I wrote Everyone Is a Change Agent to equip change agents with the seven Change Agent Essentials. In 2021, I published Change Tactics: 50 Ways Change Agents Boldly Escape the Status Quo, to further equip change agents with immediately applicable tactics to solve their toughest challenges. Change agents worldwide are using these two books to drive change and accelerate their results.
TODAY
All the world’s change managers and change leaders aren’t enough to respond to the rate of change. To conquer mountains of change, we must equip and support the world’s change agents.
