It’s about will, not rules

Tonight a friend asked me, when comparing two organizations, why one seemed capable of accommodating and adapting and the other seemed closed and rigid.  Both organizations operate from the same set of rules and yet one bends to the situation and the other breaks at each slight breeze.  Why?  Here’s what I suggested as the reason:

We know it isn’t about rules, it’s about will. Too many people miss that difference. They could adapt and accommodate if they chose to. Their choice is what is standing in their way, not their rules.”

Stop hiding behind the rules.  Start finding the will to act (inside yourself first, then calling it forward in others), and many good things will follow.
